How to run skype on Linux, Mac and Windows

linux:

1. Close Skype

2. Open your home folder ~/.Skype/ (/home/username/.Skype/)

3. Delete the shared.xml files (after starting Skype, it will appear again - this is normal)



MacOS X:

1. Close Skype

2. Open the folder ~/Library/Application Support/Skype/

3. Delete the shared.xml file (after launching Skype it will appear again - this is normal)

* ~ means your home folder, open Finder and click Go - Home or Command (Bullseye) +Shift+H if you don't know how to find it."


Windows:

1. Close Skype (In Vista and 7 - right click on the Skype icon in the Windows bar and "Exit Skype")

2. Click Start-Run

3. In the window that opens, type: %appdata%\skype and click OK

4. In the folder that opens, find the shared.xml file (if you don’t see standard extensions, it will look like just shared) and delete it

5. Relaunch Skype
