Ukrainian Forum of Internet Figures iForum-2011

On April 1, the long-awaited iForum conference took place in Kiev, which brought together more than 3,500 Internet figures.

The forum was held in 4 simultaneous streams:

• Internet business;
• Internet technologies;
• Internet advertising;
• social media.

Despite the convenient ability to move freely between streams, it is rather problematic to cover everything, so I gave most of the time allotted for the event to the Social Media stream as a new direction with phenomenally rapid growth and great prospects.

Social media topics ranged from social media innovation to online reputation management.

The rich program of the conference made it possible to gain a lot of new knowledge and impressions.
I would especially like to highlight some of the reports that aroused particular interest:

• Vlad Tsyplukhin (head of the press service of VKontakte) shared information about the achievements of the social network VKontakte, about novelties and directions of development of the resource, and answered all questions of interest.
• Oksana Zavoyko (Director of Internet marketing agency Prodigi), the report was devoted to the social media market and competent work in social networks.
• Alexander Smirnov (Commercial Director of "Ashmanov & Partners") spoke in an accessible way about online reputation management.
• Roman Sidorenko (Founder and CEO of WantMore) talked about how social media complements TV.

As Aleksey Mas noted, the growth of Internet business in 2010 increased by 60% and will continue to grow. From which we can conclude that business is rapidly moving online, and this trend will not only continue in the future, but will also develop successfully.
